Site Technician (08-14-294)

Location: Providence, RI, USA

Join the heart of the operations and construction team with one of the fastest growing solar operations in the country. As a Solar Energy Site Technician, you will learn the inner workings of originating, processing, shade analysis, and integrating solar systems on residential and commercial sites. This position requires a very strong work ethic and professional aptitude, as well as the ability to efficiently work within a departmentalized team to keep solar projects streamlined.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate site visits with clients

  • Check on jurisdictional requirements before appointment

  • Measure roof of customer's home

  • Measure and draw proposed array locations, conduit path, and equipment location

  • Confirm pre-site checklist is complete with detailed notes

  • Confirm there are pictures documenting all aspects of the job site

  • Conduct shading analysis using Sun Eye tool on residential rooftop locations

  • Take length measurements on roof to make sure solar arrays will be able to fit as designed

  • Take pictures of attic trusses when necessary. Draw trusses, making note of lumber used, angles of beams, connection points, etc.

  • Coordinate site visits with clients

  • Inform customers about the company referral program and other RGS Energy offerings

  • Upload deliverables to company software

  • Any other duties required by Operations Management

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driving license insurable by good driving record

  • Good mathematical aptitude and accuracy

  • Can communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in English

  • Can work/complete/integrate multiple tasks

  • Ability to learn skills associated with tool use for a wide array of home improvement measures

  • Good decision-making ability

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Attention to detail

  • Prompt response to customer needs

  • Positive team spirit

  • Can read and interpret plans and other written information

  • Accurate and thorough

  • Can handle frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

  • Work long hours when necessary to reach goals

Essential Qualifications:
  • $10-$18 per hour depending on pertinent aptitude
