Senior Financial Analyst (06-14-228)

Location: Port Chester, NY, USA

RGS Energy is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Port Chester, New York area that will be responsible for performing financial and non-financial analyses to support and measure the commercial business unit results and provide data and analysis to assist in product development and pricing.

This position will work independently and interact regularly with the commercial business unit leadership team and corporate financial management to analyze quarterly forecasts and profit plans, analyze monthly financial results, and establish and measure key financial and non-financial targets. They will evaluate systems and business processes and make recommendations to enhance timeliness and accuracy of data being gathered to assist the financial and management reporting processes. They will work with accounting personnel to assist in modification of processes as required. They will also perform competitive analyses, research industry trends, and develop recommendations for business unit management.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and participate in quarterly financial reviews with key functional business leaders

  • Use financial data provided by the accounting department and non-financial metrics gathered from business processes and CRM software; develop revenue, expense, and non-financial business metrics analyses to support monthly and quarterly financial review with business unit leaders, CEO, CFO and Board of Directors

  • Assist in new product development by providing analysis of pricing in relation to historical financial results as well as future trends based on data provided by the operations team

  • Assist in preliminary credit reviews of potential commercial business unit customers

  • Maintain the commercial business unit sales backlog and update based on current facts and data in order to provide a timely and accurate understanding of where commercial projects are in the sales to construction to project completion cycles

  • Assist in executing all aspects of preparations, integration, consolidation, analysis, and presentation of the annual planning process as it relates to the commercial business unit

  • Assist in preparation of quarterly earnings release and earnings presentation by providing data and analysis specific to the commercial business unit

  • Other duties as assigned by the VP of Project Finance


 
Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent in business and experience

  • 7+ years' experience with financial analysis

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to resolve complex finance and accounting issues

  • Experience with commercial financing a plus

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • High level of competency with Microsoft Office programs

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel required

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with a willingness to succeed

  • Experience with Viewpoint construction software, salesforce.com and Microsoft GP or any combination thereof a plus
